13 Weeks

By some people's definitions (my husband included), 13 weeks marks the beginning of the second trimester.  The beginning of the second trimester for me will be mentally marked by not feeling like I'm going to hurl once a day.  That time may never come and the world around me is welcome to progress into the second trimester without my mind.  Don't worry.  This is NOT a case like the school system's "No Child Left Behind".

Please, please, feel free to leave my mind behind.  The pregnancy must go on.

13 Weeks.
The baby is the size of a medium shrimp.  (A different size says baby is the size of a peach.)
3 inches from head to foot and about an ounce in weight.

If you want to see what the baby looks like this week in the womb, go here.

Interesting facts:
-The baby has fingerprints
-Veins and organs are visible through baby's super fine skin
-IF the baby is a girl, she has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries

And me??  Incubator of said baby...
Well, I'm tired.  I have the urge to hurl about once a day, but I think to this point I have only hurled 5 times.  Lucky me...no, seriously.  It's not an every day occurrence.  That's a good thing.
I'm still in my normal clothes, though I am blessed with two bella bands to keep my pants up when I unbutton them later in the day.  My belly is much bigger looking down (my vantage point) to anyone look at me.  Clothed, you cannot even tell there is anything there.  I have not gained weight yet, rather, in the past 6 weeks, I lost three pounds and gained them back since New Years.

We are eagerly awaiting the gender scan around the 20th week (translated to the beginning of March).
We have an "online pool" going, no money, just for fun, for the gender, birthdate and time born, weight, length.  Be sure to check it out and please, submit your vote.  Just be nice with the weight.

A Sister.

A sister.

Webster defines sister as a female who has one or both parents in common with another.
Among other definitions.

Friend is defined as a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.

Friendship is one mind in two bodies. -Mencius

Neither of these definitions is an accurate statement of my sister.  She is listed as the 29th thing that makes me happy.  Why it did not occur to me sooner that she is one of the most important things in my life that make me happy...I'm not sure.  But she sure is.

A sister...someone to pick you up, to drag you shopping, to sit around eating entire bags of peanut butter M&M's with, to cry, laugh, love, hate, and dream with.  Someone to reel you back to reality when fantasies get in the way.  A rock...with pretty flowers painted on.  A woman, one I can always call my own.  Who knows my spirit, knows my fears, knows my loves and likes; a woman who knows me.

There is nothing better than a sister.  And the love that comes from a sister.

"If friends were flowers, I'd pick you."

My sister...there is nothing better than my sister.
A woman who is generous, precious, loving, thoughtful, caring, smart, beautiful, insightful.

She is a woman who deserves everything.

True friendship is seen through the heart, not through the eyes.

She loves with all her heart and gives with all she can.

A sister is one who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

"Promise me you'll always remember:
You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem,
and smarter than you think." - Christopher Robin to Pooh

There really are no words to use to describe my sister.  What she is to me, what she is to everyone.  She is just a blessing.  And in return, she deserves blessings.  That is my hope for her.
For you dear sister, I love you.

No facebook.

Oh the adventures of Aubrey.

Today I text messaged my husband that if I wasn't refraining from facebook I would have posted a great status about having the police called on me today.  For taking property of the company from a facility.

That's about all I can post and still remain professional, but it happened.  The police officer sided with me and eventually left with the woman who called the cops on me standing there with her phone to her ear.

Oh the crazies are out in 2011.
