I don't have the "it's flying by" feeling...yet. I'm sure it will come, but I have my little guy with me every day and every night. He gets to come to work with me, unless I choose to have someone watch him, and he has a crib in our room. There are nights during the week that Matt takes him out of the room and brings him to me to feed so that I can get sleep too, but he is still with me. Not that I would have it any other way...but I'm able to see everything, day in and day out. So nothing is getting past me. I get the smiles, the arches to the side, the cries, the sleepless days, most of the sleepless nights, the tummy time...it's all mine to see. So how could it be flying by?
The most common question to be asked..."How is he sleeping?" I know, I know...it's a big issue with lots of babies. Liam didn't want to be left out, so he made sure to give us a lot of sleepless nights...a week and a half worth at one point. He would be up for 5 hours straight, happy as a clam. Well, Mommy isn't happy as a clam in the middle of the night. So Daddy started taking over some nights. Phew!! Thank goodness. But since then, about 3 weeks ago, sleep has drastically improved. If we are lucky, he gives us a 5-6 hour stretch at the beginning of the night and then he will go anywhere from 2-4 hours afterwards. If we aren't lucky, it will be every 2-3 hours the entire night. Which, according to Liam's pediatrician, that's still a "long" stretch. Yeah...right. So sleep is improving...as everyone says it does.
At 2 months, Liam weight 11 pounds, 4.8 ounces, is 24 inches long and has a head that is 14.5 inches around. Not too sure I agree with the last measurement, but I've yet to take it on my own. We shall see. He also has 3 distinct cries. At least to his mommy. The "I'm wailing because you aren't picking me up" cry, the "I'm so tired why are you not putting me to sleep" cry, and the "What the heck, can you not tell I"m hungry" cry. Poor kid...no one else knows his cries, and everyone assumes he is hungry. Nope...mama knows best, and normally, this kid needs his sleep.
So basically, at 2 months old we still sleep, eat, poop, sleep, eat, play a little, sleep, smile....repeat.
